Garment factory going global - illustrative scenario

A Wenzhou garment factory with a stable domestic business kept repeating one line: don't put all eggs in one basket. This illustrative story walks through how we helped it take the first step overseas.

01 · The starting point: willing, but lost

The pain points were typical: no export team, nobody fluent in English or overseas platforms; an earlier marketplace experiment that fizzled out; solid products with no idea who to sell to. As the owner put it: "I hear there are orders overseas, but I have no idea where the first inquiry would even come from."

02 · Step one happens in the workshop, not on a laptop

Before building anything, we spent two days walking the floor: line capacity, sampling lead times, delivery rhythm, fabric supply chain, existing certifications. Afterwards we could already answer most of the twenty questions overseas buyers ask most — capacity, MOQ, lead time, compliance.

Going global starts not with learning export, but with taking stock of what you already have.— What we agreed during diagnosis

03 · Translate the product into words overseas buyers understand

Together we picked the first target market, then did three things: rewrote the selling points the way local buyers read them (size systems, fabric composition, QC process — not "good quality, low price"); reorganized specs and packaging; and built a multilingual international website with inquiry forms, time-zone awareness and auto-replies.

04 · Let customers find you

The website is the base camp; leads come from our AI engine plus ongoing SEO/GEO work: whatever overseas buyers search, whatever they ask AI assistants, the factory gets "correctly" mentioned there. In this scenario, inquiries started arriving steadily and the first samples were shipped.

05 · Where things stand

Now there is a one-hour review meeting every month: where inquiries come from, which market is warming up, where to invest next. No miracles — just a road paved step by step. That is exactly what the full-cycle service is designed to do.

Note: This is an illustrative scenario showing how we work, not a specific client's case. Real case studies will be published with client consent.
